  1. Nested model forms

    Rails desperately needs a unified solution for the display and consumption of nested model forms (complex forms). The ideal solution would included both model-level support for mass assignment of nested models as well as view-level helpers for the creation of forms to allow for the editing of such models.

    This was a feature that tried to make it into an earlier release of Rails (see: http://ryandaigle.com/articles/2008/7/19/what-s-new-in-edge-rails-nested-models) but was later pulled (see: http://groups.google.com/group/rubyonrails-core/browse_thread/thread/3c61e00916c365e5?pli=1) so it could bake a little longer. It seems to be time to turn the oven up on this idea, it's gone unsolved for too long…

    • have a Rails magazine

      I'd like to see Rails-related information in a magazine format with all that entails - editorial content quality control, timely and varied information, beautiful layout, offline access etc.

      Having it all free would be even better :-)

      • have a better wiki

        The old wiki is outdated and not very well organized. Having a new wiki with moderators and a more solid structure would be very helpful.
