have an open source book available in multiple languages
It would be great to have a copyleft Rails 3.0 book explaining the various concepts of the framework. Instead of waiting that the book is finished to start the translation work, it could be done in parallel by the community.
Not official, but API with comments:

There is already a wiki and api documentation online. Probably one thing that should be added is ability to comment on the api documentation, same way as php.net is organized - it's very useful.
I would also greatly appreciate such a thing in "book form", even if it's just a compilation of guides with some added references ;)
It would just be nice to be able to print it out and take somewhere, and read up on every single thing Rails without browsing the guides site, the wiki site, google, and other books.
book would be great! railsware.com
something like the django book (http://www.djangobook.com/) would be VERY VERY nice!
what of the Ruby on Rails guides project (http://guides.rubyonrails.org/) which is available for forking from the docrails project? (http://github.com/lifo/docrails/tree/master/railties/doc/guides)
