I think that's a good idea but it might belong more the plugin world unless the great majority of users need such a plugin.
What do you think?
Rafael Bueno, please try to post in English, not everyone can read Portuguese.
For those you can't, Rafael created a workaround to add this kind of validation.
DataMapper has something called in memory adapter for sqlite3. It is much much faster but you are not really testing the real thing.
I renamed this suggestion. (previous title: "Use, support and recommend RSpec instead of Test::Unit")

this is something that DataMapper already does and DM will become a first class citizen in Rails 3.0 Hopefully these features will also be ported to Active Record.
@st23am I heard someone is looking at it but I can't tell for sure. If you are interested in helping, I'd suggest to chat with dkubb on IRC/freenode.
@bob, I don't know if you saw, but there is also another suggestion about a new forum.
Talking with some DM guys, they suggested to either leave them as-is, or make em plugins. If AR standardized adapters to the DO API, then it would be easy to write more adapters for AR.
What about the other AR adapters?
DHH, Carl and Yehuda are working on a new API for Rails 3.0
The Merb router will more than likely used and the DSL will be separate meaning that you should be able to use the syntax you want. (Merb, Rails2, Rails3, custom syntax)
Check Yehuda's blog for progress on this front: http://yehudakatz.com/
Gregg suggested to look at APIdock.com
The API documentation will have to change since we will at least have a public and a private API, so the site will have to reflect that change.
Here is an example of how thor would improve the user experience:
rake: RAILS_ENV=foo rake db:migrate
thor: thor db:migrate -e production
Please list others so your suggestion can be brought to the dev team.
I don't think that's realistic. Why rewriting the wheel unless it's needed? you can already use thor and rails together, maybe some more advanced stack related tasks will make sense to be moved to thor, but migrating older tasks, doesn't seem to make sense.
Maybe you can explain what tasks you have in mind tho.
